Kyle Larson Roars Back to Win Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis After Early Setback
Kyle Larson delivered a thrilling comeback victory at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, winning the 2024 Brickyard 400 despite a major early setback. After an unscheduled pit stop to fix a loose lug nut, Larson dropped to 23rd place with just 31 laps to go. Many wrote him off—but Larson had other plans.
Capitalizing on a well-timed caution and a smart pit strategy, Larson surged through the field with precision and use determination. In a dramatic overtime restart, he took the lead and held off Ryan Blaney to secure his first Brickyard 400 win.
This victory came just two months after weather spoiled his attempt at completing the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 “Double.” Now, with a Brickyard win under his belt, Larson has etched his name into NASCAR history—becoming the first driver to compete in the Indy 500 and win the Brickyard 400 in the same year.
After kissing the bricks, a beaming Larson hinted at his future, saying he’s more motivated than ever to return to Indy in 2025.
