**Blue Jays Agree to Terms with Manager John Schneider on Three-Year Deal**

TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have announced that they have reached a three-year agreement with manager John Schneider, securing his position at the helm through the 2027 season. The contract extension comes after a promising stretch under Schneider’s leadership, as he helped guide the team to a playoff berth in 2023 and developed a strong, young core of talent.

Schneider, who took over as interim manager in July 2022 following the firing of Charlie Montoyo, has quickly established himself as a steady and respected presence in the Blue Jays’ dugout. His approach, marked by a blend of analytics-driven decision-making and a deep commitment to player development, resonated with both players and front office personnel.

“We are thrilled to have John as our manager for the long term,” said Blue Jays president and CEO Mark Shapiro. “Since taking over, he has shown exceptional leadership and has been instrumental in shaping the culture and direction of this team. This extension underscores our confidence in his ability to lead us to sustained success.”

Under Schneider’s guidance, the Blue Jays finished the 2023 season with a 92-70 record, clinching a Wild Card spot and reaching the AL Wild Card Series before being eliminated. His work with key players such as Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, and Alejandro Kirk has been particularly lauded, with the team’s offensive and defensive growth evident across the board.

“I’m incredibly honored and excited to continue working with this incredible group of players and staff,” said Schneider. “We’ve made great strides, but our goal remains clear — to bring a championship to Toronto. This city and this fanbase deserve a winner, and we are committed to delivering that.”

The Blue Jays’ decision to extend Schneider’s contract is a significant step as they look to build on their success in the coming seasons. With a roster brimming with young talent and a competitive division, the Blue Jays are poised to be a strong contender in the American League under Schneider’s leadership.

Schneider’s extension also serves as a vote of confidence in the club’s long-term vision, which emphasizes continuity and stability in both management and player development.

The Blue Jays are expected to remain active in the offseason as they continue to fine-tune their roster in pursuit of their ultimate goal: a World Series title.
